Systems Administrator
Responsibilities	Carry out deployments of all the new releases in DEV, QA, STAGE and PROD environments for WEBSPHERE,JBOSS, and WebSphere Portal. Push out database configurations and make changes to the database Server name, Port numb, ID/Passwords. Provide technical support to the Middleware Infrastructure and work with other IT teams on relevant technical Issues. Install, configure, update, administer and troubleshoot the Application servers and Web servers as per best practices and according to the application needs. Support Integration, System and Regression test activities. Troubleshoot problem--tickets and work with various other teams to identify the root cause and resolve the issue or propose a potential work around. Provide on-call support on rotational basis for the applications running on Production servers. Communicate issues and status to the team and management. Application Performance Monitoring Tools: Layer 7 Policy Migration, CA Technology. Troubleshoot issues during the deployments, coordinate with various other departments who are involved in the project and then escalate unresolved issues to development. Weekend Publishes for Critical Applications depending upon the Schedules and Downtime. Install Jboss software on the servers and do application level configuration from Dev to Prod. Monthly Reboots (Every month 2nd and 3rd Friday evening when Microsoft patches Release). Portlets/War file update on Portal Environments. Redirect for Urls. Troubleshoot issues. Work with developers on fixing avail pages, mounts issues, code changes. Document processes and process changes when a new application is configured and being tested.
